Perfect location. Two blocks from Law Street beach and an easy bike ride to north PB or the boardwalk. Street noise is substantial at night but the host has thoughtfully provided a white noise machine, air conditioner and ear plugs to help you out. We had a great staycation in our hometown and walked or rode our bikes everywhere.
Unfortunately, the copy made this seem much nicer than it was, the traffic on Mission Boulevard was horrible, and I couldnât close the window, because of the AC unit, which worked sporadically.
Great location for anyone wanting to visit Law St beach. Interior is nice and spacious for 2. Parking space provided which is nice and very thankful for the A/C unit. Good communication with manager.
The location is good, close to the beach and to the restaurants! However, I wouldnât recommend bringing babies/little ones here. We had the sound machine and the AC on, but my baby was woken up several times by loud cars and the upstairs neighbors. The house is right on the street so we expected that, but the footsteps and sliding doors above us until midnight were not expected.
We had a really nice stay at this property. We had a few questions while there and Adam was really quick to respond. The property was walking distance to the beach and a lot of shopping and eating places. We truly enjoyed staying here. Thereâs amenities to use at the beach, grill on the patio or cook inside.
I was going to leave a decent review or not one at all. Iâve now had to work with customer support for the refund and the host has stopped responding. We had a few problems with parking and finding a mouse on the property. Through the process, the host was quick to respond and had an exterminator come out. He promised a day refund, but it was never given. Iâve messaged the host 3 times after the stay to let him know the day refund was never processed. He refuses to answer. Iâve now worked with customer support for weeks.
The location was great. If you book here, ask if construction is still going on. We couldnât always park in the driveway because of construction. The host gave $25/day we couldnât park (which is appreciated) but it was unexpected. The cleaners always left something in the washer/dryer. Overall, we enjoyed the comfy bed and location, but I would consider other places before booking here.
This property is the perfect home base for a Pacific Beach weekend. We had all we needed to relax and unwind! Itâs cozy, but we like each other so we didnât mind the close quarters. Excellent responsiveness from the owner. Master bed very comfy and A/C works like a charm!
Great downstairs unit right on Mission Boulevard. A short walk to the beach. It was clean and mostly adequate. Just was responsive and accommodating. Unit could use a toaster and sufficient bedding for both air mattress and couch.
Short walk to the beach where you can walk on Pacific Beach all the way to the end of Mission Beach (3 miles before you have to turn around). Restaurants and Bars are a few blocks away. Grocery stores, drug stores and liquor stores a short drive or walk. Easy to get to San Diego city center, and La Jolla.
I loved the bed- so comfy!
As said in other reviews - the noise is pretty substantial from Mission Street as well as people who stay upstairs.
The host provides you with a cool sound machine where you can block out the noise with sounds of the ocean, rain storms, white noise or others.
If you plan to cook, bring along the basics, salt, pepper, oil as the kitchen is empty except for coffee.
Everyday, I sat on the patio in the morning and drank coffee. It was wonderful!!
The parking spot is a big plus.
I did not use them but beach towels and chairs were provided.
The location is so convenient-beach, board walk and restaurants.
I love the location of this property- an easy/ quick walk to the beach and restaurants in PB. Adam, our host, was very quick at responding to any questions we had. The check-in process was simple and convenient. I will definitely be staying here again in the future!
We had a great stay at this property and the owner, Adam, was very helpful at check-in. The parking and private patio are great perks and the property had everything we needed. We were within walking distance of so many great things including bike rental shops to get us even further up and down the shore. The neighborhood was beautiful and a great place to walk with your morning coffee. We would definitely stay here again.
This bottom floor PB apartment is located an easy walk to the beach with a designated parking space for any sized vehicle⊠huge factor in renting this property. It had a nice outdoor patio with table and chairs, BBQ and string lighting for ambience. The inside was cozy and clean. The kitchen was small, but functional⊠bring your own seasoning/ oil etc if you plan to cook- pepper and coffee were the only items in cupboard. The bedroom is dark because window blinds need to be kept closed for privacy from the other unit and the street⊠single paned windows make it very noisy at night and there is a window AC unit that prevents one window from closing. Bed is comfy and dresser and closet space was good. Bathroom is a bit rustic but good shower head and ht for taller people. Adam was very good at communicating with us, allowed us to have a BBQ with our sons in the area and get in to the unit early, which we really appreciated. There is laundry on site but it had sheets and items left in from cleaning the other units so we could not use them⊠note says housekeeping has use 10am to 3 pm and it was 8 pm. If you are young, a heavy sleeper and want a great location- this is it.
Property was clean, warm and welcoming. Bed was comfortable, and kitchen well stocked. Host Adam was great at checking in, and readily available. The location can't be beat, with so many attractions and wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The beach is a block away!!! Weâll be back!
I had a great time at this property it was very tidy and worked well for us as well as an amazing location walking distance from almost everything in Pacific Beach. I would definitely recommend and would stay here again given the opportunity!
From the moment we parked in our assigned space to entering the private courtyard with the beautiful Spanish tiled table with lighted umbrella (great to sit outside and have a cup of tea or coffee or have a meal) to entering the space, we were hooked. It was as nice as the 5 star reviews shared and understandable why 5 stars. Great host communication, easy check in, assigned off-street parking,, clean and inviting and plenty of room for 2-4 people. A lot of care and consideration went into the decorating and preparation for guests. The towel folding and flowers in the linens were such a nice touch and weren't lost on us. The bed was comfortable and there was ample closet space. We brought our little Cheagel dog and she did so great in all the comfortable spaces for her. The beach and ocean was a quick and enjoyable walk away. Restaurants and shops all around and the grocery market just a 5 minute drive. While the unit is located on a busy street, you dont really notice it and the noise machine in the bedroom was a perfect solution for night sleeping. We are thrilled to have found this property and will be back. It was most enjoyable.
Great little spot just steps away from the beach! We loved how close this place is to restaurants and bars, and itâs in a great neighborhood that we felt safe in.
Host is fantastic- extremely responsive and helpful!
First the minor stuff: The location is great, but the unit itself is the size of a shoe box. One half of that shoe box is not air conditioned, so if you are at all claustrophobic, do not stay here. Also, the refrigerator did not work properly. Did I mention the location is great?
We booked this for Aug. 18-20 before hurricane Hilary appeared on the horizon. Once it became an issue, we figured we would be ok leaving Sunday. Then the National Weather Service upgraded the storm Friday night, warning of torrential rains, flooding and life-threatening conditions across southern California as early as Saturday night.(Gov. Newsom ultimately declared a state of emergency) We weighed our options and decided to leave a day early because central California was slated to be hit hardest. We feared I-10 would be a disaster on our way back to AZ. (It was later closed due to flooding). Leaving early was the correct decision to ensure our safety and our lives.
You would think the host would show some understanding when we asked for a partial refund due to the first tropical storm to hit California since the 1930s. Common decency, right? Oh no, Adam said, we did not qualify because his refund policy "does not cover situations where a storm is only a possibility" (!) and that "during your stay, the storm did not actually occur." He should work for an insurance company. "Ma'am you weren't actually in the home when to tornado struck..." Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
Property was just as it was advertised. A quick walk to the beach was a welcome relief to our Phoenix-fried brains. Upstairs neighbors tended to clump around in the evening but we managed some good nights sleep.
Adam was very responsive until he became ill unfortunately. Property is as described. Where we stayed is one of 3 locations on the property. Main road is very noisy so white noise is a must. Close to the beach which is great. Off street parking for a car is key as on street parking is not easy as it is so busy and there is street cleaning on Friday and Sunday nights.
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this VRBO property. The location was perfect for us -- two blocks from beach access and lots of restaurants within walking distance, both north and south. We rarely used our car and logged over 20,000 steps most days! (When we did use our car, we appreciated the designated parking spot as finding street parking during peak times can be a nuisance.)The property was clean and just what we needed for the two of us, plus our small dog. It's similar in size to a one bedroom hotel suite. It's in a quiet, residential neighborhood and while you can hear some traffic noise from Mission Blvd, it did not bother my husband or I at all. Plus, a white noise machine is provided if you are a light sleeper. (This property is NOT located in an area with late night parties so noise from drunk people was not an issue.) Adam was super attentive and answered all of my questions within minutes. We thought this property was a great value, given the price and location!
Great location, very cute. Host was very responsive, easy check in process. There were a few items of note, there was really only room for 3 people to stay of one sleeps on the couch. There was an air mattress that was no longer holding air and the TV was broken. I let the host know and he was thankful for the information so he could fix those issues for the next guests. Overall, my kids and I had a lovely time. Lots of beach toys and equipment stored on the patio to use!
We stayed here for a week and the place was great and just as described. The location is perfect - very short walk to Law St beach and easy walk to all the fun on Mission Blvd. Our host Adam was very responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay great! I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. Free off street parking is a bonus in this area too. Overall this is a great place to stay with a great host!
