Clean but with some issues!

You cannot fault this properties cleanliness. Housekeeping and bedding was completed once per week. During the week you took your own bins down if they became full. Stairs up to apartments not suitable for people with a disability. Could not contact the owner either by ringing or emails, with regards to entering premises, missing items and faulty kettle. Only one electric adapter so had to keep switching plugs. Had to buy second pillows as only one. The bed was quite hard. Laundry is carried out once per week, which was good at 4.50 euros including powder. The door in the toilet/shower room did not close, which has been a problem for years. This could prove embarrassing for some people. Just to warn people, there is no sunlight around this side of building and can be quite cold!

One week stay

We stayed in this property for one week and appreciated the location. The apartment is a nice size but very sparse. It s a very basic property. The kitchen was very minimally equipped and it was difficult to prepare meals with the utensils provided. We sent a few messages about issues and we never got responses. The wifi was out for half our stay and messages were not responded to. The description says that they provide airport transfer and we requested it for the end of our stay but again, our message was not answered. We did appreciate the laundry facilities and the price was good for the area.

Second stay at Shamrock apartments another great stay. So close to all amenities, bus terminal so close, restaurants, shops etc.. hosts are attentive and quick to respond to any enquires. Appartment has everything you could need for your stay. Pool is small but clean. Plenty of sunbeds. Only negative not the appartments fault but a Scottish lady decided to sunbathe topless (which is not allowed) next to my 80 year old father, just because she wanted the particular bed he was using!!

Rather disappointing establishment

The rooftop pool that features as a first picture on hotels.com does not open until May! There is a construction site right next to the hotel generating lots of noise and blocking the light. The apartment itself was in need of refurbishing and appliances left much to be desired like a rusty kettle. Would not recommend this place.

Very basic accommodation although we found everything we needed was there. Spotless clean towels and bedding, as was the apartment. Staff at the property so helpful and friendly. Building work going on right next to the apartment block but atm I dont think there are many hotels/apartments in Qawra/Bugibba that havent got building work going on by them.....

This was a great budget accommodation for the month we spent in Malta. Close proximity to restaurants and the main bus station made life easy. Julia was excellent with communication and was always available. We were there in low season (January) but most places were open. We had a great time and Shamrock apartment was a great place to stay.

Location near bus station near Bugibba and supermarket closeby. Building is a bit old and outdated, but very clean and housekeeping is very good. Apartment has pretty much everythung you need. And communication with host is very good, they will reply and provide you if you need something extra. Very friendly. Decent accomodation if you are looking for long term affordable accomodation.

The appointment was very hemmed in. We had to keep the doors and curtains closed because of the building work opposite. They were building another apartment block opposite and it almost within touching distance. Very noisy with no privacy. This made the rooms very hot. As a base to explore its very well situated.

The location of the property was excellent. I like the cleansiness of the property and the fact that it had all the necessary ammendities. The pool was very cold though and not at 5ft which wasn't suitable for my 5 year old son but everything else was perfect.

Basic but clean

The apartment was quite basic and dated but clean. The price says it all. Could have done with more kitchen utensils etc cushions on sofa and a lamp. The room we had had a balcony but overlooked a tower block under construction. Would use again as we werent in the apartment that much. Bugibba has everything you need and apartment is central to everything.

A little disappointing but very cheap

Started badly when the requested transfer was absent and couldn't get an answer by phone - apparently an email was sent but we never received it. We were cold and wet when we arrived, so lack of any obvious heating was a concern - though this was quickly fixed. The a/c unit giving the heat was only in the main bedroom, so took a while to heat everywhere else. Apartment was clean but a little tatty in places (door frames warped etc.). Kettle provided needed the gas cooker which is an odd choice - Malta doesn't have mains gas so expected the bottles to run out at any moment. No tea/coffee or shampoo/shower gel/soap provided and only 1 toilet roll. 2 towels each, but not changed during week (getting them dry obviously tricky). Bed comfortable, duvet warm (thankfully), pillows thick but a little lumpy. Our room had only 1 half-sized balcony right next to building entrance - no privacy, barely room for 2 chairs.
