Loved the historic hotel, location, canal and gondola spot just outside - all very 'Venice'. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast could be eaten on a lovely outdoor patio. The hotel was just about walkable (we managed it with a suitcase and smaller hand luggage each) from the Piazzalo Roma, the terminal for the people-mover and the local buses, it was a short walk, but with 3 small bridges to cross.

Good for a short stay

The check in process was a little disappointing. We original booked 2 rooms for the same price. 1 room with 2 people and the other with just 1 by mistake. We contacted the hotel about the 2nd guest and were required to pay an extra $10/nt for the second guest, even though the original price was the same for single and double occupancy. There was a foul smell in the lobby on the second night and morning of arrival. It’s a good place but not great.

The hospitality was a 10! Fransisco greeted us in a professional and friendly manner. He was very informative of the hotel and surrounding area history. A map was provided with directions on how to get to key sights. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety of fruits, cereal, meats and cheeses, eggs and pastries. The hotel is a ten minute walk to the train station.

Room and hotel were very clean. The hotel in general was beautiful. There was some paint peeking in the wall by the elevator and at the bottom of the bathroom door frame. The towel heating rack didn't work. Otherwise, we were very happy with the room. We loved the view of the canal. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.

Loved view of canal. Easy to find from train station. Main bridge from RR station has lots of steps to schlep luggage. Hotel neighborhood has lots of stores and eateries. Our room was extremely small and needs fixing. For example, closet door very hard to move. Very little space for storing clothes and luggage.

Nice location with friendly staff.

What a lovely hotel. A short walk from the bus station which was convenient. Staff were friendly. The room was very basic and bathroom small. Breakfast was ok but kitting to write home about.
