Not a 5* Hotel

This hotel rates itself as 5*. It is not a 5* hotel. To be fair the staff - from reservations to bellmen to reception are excellent. They are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. However the layout of the hotel is awkward and very inconvenient - three separate buildings cobbled together which makes getting to and from some rooms very cumbersome. The hotel is located in a heavily touristed neighborhood so street noises can be a problem. The rooms are adequate but basic. The bathroom was particularly inadequate with extremely low level lighting and zero counter space at the sink. This is a tourist hotel, not a 5* hotel.

I don't think you can get a better place to stay in Amsterdam. The location is amazing, right across dam Square and the palace. The cafes outside a perfect for starting your day. The staff and service are 10/10, this was my second stay at the Anantara and third time in the city. I will go back and definitely not even a question will be staying here again.
