Sonder O’Connor has now become our go-to place when we’re in Ottawa. We chose it originally because it is close to our son and daughter-in-law. But we quickly realized that we liked the rooms (we’ve had both the single and the apartment style), the location beside the Museum of Natural History and the easy walk to Elgin Street.

Having to buy a card to have the privilege to do laundry is not acceptable when you consider that you get free laundry pods and machine use at the other hotel 10 minutes away.

Place was comfy and easy to access. Would have been nice to have some water bottles, and the carpet was a little dirty. Also, never found the card they said was in the room with the wifi details.

Wonderful place ---close to immediate restaurants especially 24 hour Elgin Street Diner. Shopping downtown will require transportation or 15-20 min. walk. Parking was awesome and immediate to room access. Front Desk assistance was friendly and very helpful. Apt. was very clean and very comfortable--- with good supplies. We will stay again.

"View" to a concrete painted wall with a mural... some of the electrical outlets didnt work so only the one kitchen overhead light worked. Need softer window coverings in addition to the blackout roll down as light leaks around. Overall adequate but might not stay again. Having all the ammenities in unit was nice for a longer stay.

Photos of property are not accurate. This is an old hotel that has been semi updated, not a condo. Still has outdated features and rooms are severely lacking storage. The full kitchen was convenient. Onsite parking is very tight, cannot park with anything larger than a small SUV. Decent location but can be noisy at night, hotel did provide ear plugs.

I found that the pictures online don’t match too well the inside. There was a lot of stuff that was not cleaned in our room areas in the bathroom were dirty. Walls in the bedroom had fingerprints from Cheetos of some sort or just dirty hands.I don’t like the fact that I couldn’t just call the front desk because the rooms do not have a phones. I had to use my cell phone to call anywhere local because I’m not from Ottawa so I will be charged for that. I don’t really like that. I had to go on a chat when I had issues with the room because I had to wait longer than it should have to have the issues resolved. I also asked for an extra blanket and they didn’t have extra blankets available, which I find odd, because why wouldn’t you have extras? You have a fold out couch as an option that had no blankets on it so in that case and they don’t have extra bedding, they shouldn’t promote it as a spot to sleep. The pullout couch was also very uncomfortable. You can feel every single pool through that thin mattress. Maybe it was because all they gave me was a sheet to cover myself with. I also did not like the fact that I had to pay extra to check in early and when I arrived to check in early, even though I had paid already, they told me that they never received the request and my room wasn’t ready. I had to still wait and I was never offered any compensation at least for half of what I paid even though they never had me in on time for what I had paid for and I think that’s ridiculous.

Sondor at The O'Connor is so secure, clean and well-maintained. Our studio apartment was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our four night stay. We have already recommended it to others and we would not hesitate to stay there the next time we visit our family and friends in Ottawa.
