4/10 Poor

I recently stayed at this hotel with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience was far below expectations. The food was a major letdown. With the exception of the steak house, most of the options were bland and uninspired. The buffet at "El Mercado" felt like recycled leftovers—nothing tasted fresh, and the variety was poor. The only thing that was sometimes really good at the buffet was the grilled fish of the day, which was a pleasant surprise compared to the other offerings. Service at the buffet was especially bad; asking for something as simple as water or napkins meant waiting so long that you’d almost be done with your meal before they arrived, if at all.
Basic amenities were also lacking. There were several days when there were no towels available at the pool. My friends’ rooms were missing towels, toilet paper, and shampoo, and sometimes housekeeping didn’t even clean the rooms. One friend had a particularly alarming experience when water started leaking from the ceiling in the middle of the night, making her fear the ceiling would collapse. on a positive note, Justina, the bar attendant at one of the pools, and her team were fantastic. They were friendly, attentive, and truly made our time at the pool enjoyable. Kevin from Expedia, who acted as our concierge, was also a lifesaver—he helped us resolve many issues with the hotel and assisted with restaurant reservations. Without him, our stay would have been more stressful.
