We recently stayed at the Phoenix hotel and were somewhat disappointed with our stay.
The location is perfect and is next to the main square as well as many bars and restaurants. The room itself was rather nice and modern with a spacious bathroom.
The negatives... the staff were not welcoming whatsoever. There were some staff on reception who were helpful and some who were not. Being in the tourism industry it is all about customer service and engaging with customers, as well as giving the occasional smile, but there was none of that here! This was a complete contrast to the incredible service we received at our stay in Kefalonia.
Also the breakfast was a huge disappointment. There was not a lot of variety and the food was cold every single day! We even woke up one morning at 7am and the breakfast was still cold even when it had just come out of the kitchen! I suggest the hotel invest in some warming facilities as the standard at breakfast really wasn't acceptable.
Overall the room was nice but the service and breakfast made our stay a disappointing one!
