Honestly the staff were really nice and friendly, but the food and drinks were awful. Very limited options for food after hours, hallways on our floor were not air conditioned at all. Bathroom only had one outlet plug. Felt outdated.

The food and services were excellent. The rooms require updating and the beds need mattress pad covers and duvets. The entertainment was good, however, the guests passing in front of the stage wasn't very good and took away from the performances. The surrounding area could improve for tourists. While trying to shop we were hounded to buy drugs and eventually we gave up trying to shop. Our boys were also offered drugs and prostitutes, so very disturbing and disappointing - they didn't leave the hotel for the remainder of our trip. We loved the beaches and absolutely loved our stay at the Palace next door. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but likely won't return to the hotel zone in the future.

Pros- parties are fun, food is decent, ocean is beautiful and calm, close proximity to clubs in hotel zone, and there is always something to do. Rooms are also very clean and the bartenders are great. Cons- room keys needed to be redone every day if they got close to your phone or wallet at all, the sheets on the bed were super thin, and the elevators were not very efficient. Great trip, but would spend the extra money to stay at a riu palace resort if possible

The street is unsafe - it has been impossible for visitors to cross the street easily as the cars do not stop, nor there are traffic lights. There are great stores to visit, but safety comes first. Another thing, there are too many shades - visitors travel to Cancun to bask in the sun, but the hotel has been blocking the sun for a large portion of the day. Beautiful hotel and pools layout. I enjoyed my stay.

This property was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what is advertised. The rooms were in terrible condition and felt more like a rundown motel than a resort. It’s clear the hotel was built years ago and has not been properly updated or maintained since. I documented the room and resort with over 45 photos showing the true condition. The food was poor, and restaurant options were very limited. Ironically, the best part of the stay was a taco place across the street, not the hotel itself. The photos online are highly misleading and do not reflect the reality of this property. Because of this, we ended up changing hotels, as it completely ruined the vacation experience. The pool was overcrowded and resembled a small roadside motel pool you’d find at the Jersey Shore, not a Cancun resort. The patio was extremely small, and the furniture was falling apart, which took away from what should have been a beautiful oceanfront experience. On top of that, the staff was unaccommodating, towels looked decades old with holes in them, and the room had numerous maintenance issues mismatched faucets, a bathroom doorknob hanging off, bubbling ceilings, a strong mold smell, and furniture that was visibly worn and damaged.

Yes and yes. Very much so. Only deficiency is that the food is rather bland. Plenty of it, but overall bland. The word that came to mind was “inoffensive.” Good mojitos and that’s important. Atmosphere and amenities were otherwise fine. Entertainment was good. Had a great massage in the spa. Avoid the pedicure/manicure. They try hard but it’s not their thing. We will vacation with RIU again.

Muy estrictos con el horario de comidas. 11:00 se cerraba el desayuno. a las 10:35 am te decian que ya no habia algunos licuados y bebidas?? lo que es imperdonable es que te apaguen la luz del restaurante... uno esta desayunado ya cerrado y con la comdia fria y todavia que tan el ultimo espadazo apagado la luz... mal gusto. El cuarto con mal aspecto, los muebles viejos y maltratados. Las toallas son de hotel de paso... mal, me senti mal con la familia pero ni hablar... que sriva de experiancia para nunca mas quedar en algun hotel Riu o Ruin...
