The house was perfect. Didnât realize it until we walked in it was almost identical to what we are starting to build on our land. The house was clean and comfortable. Will stay here again.
The treehouse was as described in the online listing. We enjoyed the view and time spent on the wrap-around porch when the sun was out and the covered porch to listen to the rain and enjoy the string of lights in the evening. The location is secluded and extremely peaceful. Overall, the house was clean. However, there was a water bottle left on the porch and when I was looking behind furniture in the room with the telescope trying to find the switch for the string of lights, I found paper, a tissue, and a tampon, which was thankfully still in its wrapper. It would be helpful to provide instructions for how to turn the string of lights on. It wasn't obvious, even after reaching out to the management company. However, the biggest complaint was the check-in process. After driving 6 hours straight, we arrived at dusk and in the rain, looking forward to settling in and relaxing. However, the key pad to unlock the door didn't work. The lengthy description and additional troubleshooting steps provided should have been a clue that it would be difficult. Both my teenage daughter and I tried entering the provided code at least a dozen times. I tried to call the 800 number provided for assistance, but there was no cell phone service at the house. So, we drove several miles down the road to where we did have service. I called again and was on hold for 15 minutes with no help. Luckily, help was responsive when I texted and we were able to get in the house by alternate means.
Beautiful home in the mountains Had issues with whomever takes care of the interior 2 rolls of toilet paper for us for almost a week stayLight bulbs burnt out and missing Ceiling fan could not turn off Toilet tank valve kept running until I was able to physically work around this problem Upon arrival trash container was overflowing from previous visitors and the cleaning crew didnât bother to remove it Outside deck furniture and tables hadnât been cleaned and pollen dust and leaves were still on them
I never received the access code to enter the property, I texted in the morning of the booking for the information and code, had to call at 3:00 an hour before our stay to get the address and code . I received the address but no code. Called again at 5:00 still no access code, I had to leave and drive 2 hours home. VRBO has not been any help. Got 5 stars with my last booking, Iâm not using them again. The home was advertised as being 7.2 miles from Highlands, N.C., it was 25 miles.
This was a lovely place for a weekend getaway in the mountains, even better than the pictures and one of my favorite trips to NC! We had good weather, but the driveway is fairly steep and may be difficult to get up in the snow without a 4-wheel drive car. Unrelated to the property, but in the winter, restaurants in nearby towns like Highlands have very limited hours or are closed, so check ahead! Overall, the trip was amazing, thanks so much!
We absolutely loved this house. The house was well stocked with everything you would need for the kitchen and bathrooms as well. Plenty of towels and extra blankets. We loved the deck, great view and the fire pit area was a total hit. The house is located close to everything we wanted to do and see. Highly recommend this house to any family and I hope to visit again soon.
The house is very cozy and warm. The kitchen was more fully stocked with anything you would need, more so than my own home! The views are lovely and the surrounding area is stunning. My only negative, and an important one, is getting to the home. The last half mile or so the road is very narrow, unpaved and downright scary. No guardrails where there are steep drops on the sides. I do not recommend getting there in the dark as we did. I would love to revisit this lovely home but this alone will stop me from going back.
Very comfortable home to stay in. Plenty of room and furnished with everything you need. This home is so peaceful and quiet. A beautiful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing the beautiful mountains. The home is very well maintained.
Only negative, the king size bed was very hard and uncomfortable. One side was broken down and we had to avoid sleeping in the hole on that side.
Very nice, well equipped house. Very secluded and quiet. Here are the butsâŠ.internet was intermittent and with no cell coverage, a potential issue. A very noisy dehumidifier going 24/7 in the crawl space took away the serene quiet. The master bedroom bed frame was very squeakyâŠif you are a toss and turner, you will wake your partner. There should be a warning to NOT come to this place if you have a low profile vehicleâŠyou will scrap along the gravel road and driveway. Beautiful setting.
Comfortable home. Quiet. All the kitchen accessories. Plenty of room for two couples and kids. Close to trails. Clean.
I would warn the future users that a low profile vehicle is not recommended to drive up the gravel road. We scraped the bottom of the car a couple of times. Internet is not the greatest so if needing a remote office it will be difficult. (Wi Fi sign needs updating. We had to figure out by exclusion which internet was the one we needed.). Would have appreciated access to extra pillowcases for the extra pillows made available. Overall in a very good location and very nice place to stay. We were very comfortable and relaxed.
(The battery in the door lock seems to be running out of power so we had a bit of difficulty getting the code in before it stopped working.)
The treehouse is worth the ride up the mountain. Read all the reviews about the road so we knew what to expect. A little daunting on the gravel road but when you get to the concrete driveway and there is room to turn around it is fine. The kitchen has all the equipment you need and some spices. Itâs great to sit on the porch and have your coffee in the morning. We got there with dinner to cook for the first night and breakfast items. They arenât kidding when they say get there in the daylight. Would definitely stay there again.
The property itself was very nice and well appointed. However the drive to the house is a gravel, bumpy, steep, one lane "road".
Because of that we left early. If I don't even want to think about if there was an emergency.
Also - the telescope was a huge fail, as there were no instructions, and thus unusable.
Started off bad because lockbox code given me didn't work and I had no cell phone service but once I was able to call vacasa, they gave me another code to open lockbox and remainder of my stay was great.
This was honestly one of the most cozy and beautiful cabins we have ever stayed in..and we've stayed in a lot. What makes it so special is all the love the owner has clearly put in it. Every room has personal touches and trinkets that add to the character. The beautiful furnishings, the warm colors, the glow of the lights on the porch, the sound of the creek, the soft thick bedding, the special spots they have created to cuddle up in and read a book, enjoy the view, have a cup of coffee and soothe your soul. It feels like someone has welcomed you into their cottage in the woods and I felt at peace as soon as we walked in the door. The kitchen is fully stocked with every thing you could possibly need and more, the cookware is quality as well as high end appliances. I highly recommend this cabin
We so enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse. The setting is so peaceful and quiet. Loved the porches. Kitchen was well equipped. So homey.....even had a Christmas tree to enjoy!!!
