Apart from the bed everything met my needs. The mattress was the worst of the three places I stayed on this short break - Trinity College & IBIS Budget. The hotel was selected as it was adjacent to Glasgow Queen Street Station.

Ideal location

Excellent location next to Queen Street Station. Really friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was a bit hit or miss.

Hotel is old, room is large but nothing special. Poor light with high window, old toilet you have to pump, no bathroom fan, no air distribution system working. Only open the window and wall heater. Lifts are old. Staff ok. Parking not very close by. Good location in old part of city. There are newer hotels near by. Poor value for money.

Hotel is right next door to the Queen St rail station, so very convenient if you are traveling by train or taxi. Central city, convenient to shopping and restaurants. George Square is currently barricaded for renovation so not so scenic right now. Hotel plans a major refurbishing in 2026 and needs it. Room had a mix of very nice and shabby furnishings. Bar open 24 hrs but has no food or snacks. Restaurant open only for the breakfast buffet. Staff were kind and helpful.

Spotlessly clean, spacious room and ensuite bathroom. Good selection of toiletries, hairdryer, iron, etc. Good soundproofing snd central location. Only downside is the lack of a restaurant in the evening. I had assumed as a restaurant is mentioned on the web site that evening meals were pissible.

In some ways I was fortunate. They were able to keep in the same room despite 2 separate reservations. The space between the wall and bed in that room was quite tight. I put up the refresh room sign on one morning but it was clear no-one had been in the room. This was disappointing in an otherwise good stay.
