The bed and decor of the room were great and comfortable. The bathroom plumbing made a lot of noises and there was a small leak coming from the back enclosed area of the old toilet with chain. It had the charm of an old building but bathroom and carpet need updating.
The room was very nice. The shower was very good. I liked the old feel of the hotel. The breakfast was ok. Would have liked a coffee machine and not just an urn full of coffee.

An convenient property that has seen better days. The room and bathroom were clean and realativley comfortable, but many things were dated. The stairs were a nightmare (do not carry up your luggage). Awesome view of the castle and super convenient to downtown Inverness. No parking, but a cheap pay lot was not far.
Unique historic hotel with all the modern conveniences. Beautiful view of River Ness and Inverness Castle.

Great location, little else too recommend
All three stars were for the location. The sheets didn't fit the bed so we ended up sleeping on bare mattress, it was understaffed, there was no option to reuse towels. The floor slants noticeably.
Lovely location, beautiful architecture and building and views outside the hotel. It’s a memorable place for me as it’s where I was proposed to.
Only let down is the lack of / poor internet connection.
Check in required a telephone call from the reception area to get a member of staff to check us in. Person who checked us in was not in any staff uniform, very casually dressed (scrappy top) and lacked inter personal and good communication skills.
The hotel room was fine. Very much an old building and floors ran at different angles which was amusing. Clean, tidy well furnished but no fridge.
Barmaid in downstairs bar was very helpful and went above and beyond.
Breakfast was an experience but far from the best. Tables uncleared from previous guests yet a member of staff sitting at the restaurant reception doing not a lot.
The servery had ran out of plates with only side plates available.
Food was buffet style inc cereals etc.
Hot food had not been replenished and was not during our time in the restaurant mid service. Anything left was inedible.
Breakfast was inc in our tariff but if you were paying separately my advice would be to have breakfast elsewhere.
Would I stay at the Columba again as it is? No. It has the potential to be good but wasn't.
Value for money, the Riverside Premier Inn offers a much better experience like for like.
Great location and views from the riverside rooms.

Hotel is in a great area.
The hotel itself is good, comfy bed and good bathroom.
It is a bit tired in general though.
