Firstly to be fair to them we arrived on New Year’s Eve and the problems we experienced may have been exacerbated by the timing and the shortage of staffa. We were there for 3 nights and for the first 2 days we had no working shower. It was unusually cold in Miami and we asked for extra blankets. We finally got some for the final night. The worst aspect of the hotel was the bed. It was very uncomfortable and kept breaking because the slats were not secured. You don’t expect to keep having to get up in the middle of the night to repair your bed. It’s also far from any eating places.

This hotel is amazing, but had several flaws that kept it from 5-star status. The most problematic was the apparently very tiny hot water supply: I was not even able to complete washing my hair before the water went entirely cold. There are no elevators in the lodgings, so if you don't want to haul your luggage up four flights of stairs then it might be best to book a ground-floor room in advance! The rooms are also quite humid, and contain no coffee maker/microwave/refrigerator - I bought a kettle in town and was happy I did. So, a lot of flaws - but why then do I give this place four stars? Well, because it's amazingly beautiful there, and resembles a peaceful fairly land at night. The staff was friendly and proficient at all they did. Special thanks to the man from Toronto who helped me through my asthma attack with cold water and cooling fan, and the man who gave me a tour of the River House bus while showing me where the ice machine lived! A lovely fountain, clean and cool pool, spacious outdoor dining area, and some of the prettiest chickens in all Miami made this a truly relaxing and wonderful stay. Bring a travel coffee pot, some Damp-rid, and cultivate your love of cool showers, and you'll have a great stay too. The neighborhood was interesting with lots of historical markers and open-air art, and a great park with sporting facilities is a short walk away. If I visit Miami in the future, the Miami River Inn is where I will stay!

Title: DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARDS AND UNSANITARY CONDITIONS Rating: 1/5 Review: I am a frequent traveler and this was the most unsafe accommodation I have ever encountered. I urge travelers to look elsewhere. 1. Misleading Presentation: The room provided was completely different from the online images. It was in a state of severe disrepair and uncleanliness that was not depicted in the listing. 2. Severe Sanitary Issues: The shared bathroom was unusable. I found visible unsanitary waste and stained articles left in the open. It was a serious health concern that made staying there impossible. 3. Safety Hazards: The property is physically unsafe. The steep stairwell had no working lights. Due to the complete lack of visibility, I fell down the stairs. This is a major safety code violation. 4. Unsafe Environment: I did not feel secure in this building. I checked in and immediately checked out because the environment felt dangerous. 5. Management Response: Despite leaving immediately due to the safety hazards (unlit stairs) and sanitary conditions, the property refused to authorize a refund. They would not acknowledge the dangerous conditions of the facility. Summary: This property presents real safety and health risks. It is not as advertised. Do not book here.

Really awful rom, so basic. Not at all like the photos. View of a rubbish tip. Wooden chair to sit on, single duvet (without cover ) on double bed. Pool shut and we were not advised. No glasses or anything in bathroom or room. No where to hang a towel. Bedside lamp didn’t work. Windows grimy and filthy. I could go on. Location not great. Taxi driver couldn’t find it. The photos are completely staged. Too awful.

This hotel is adorable. I reserved a room, but was upgraded to an “apartment”. It’s kitschy and bohemian. The restaurant/ bar was such a lovely environment with palm trees and plants. Staff was friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Highly recommend The Miami River Inn for an off the beaten path, relaxing Miami experience ❤️
