A beautiful chateau with stunning views, elegant antique decor, and warm, friendly staff. A charming and memorable stay! This is mostly like a Bed & Breakfast experience rather than a hotel.
We got a 2 joined rooms with 3 king beds. One was a queen size and the other two were full size. The beds were so hard, you may as well sleep on the wood floor. One bathroom had a tiny shower and the other room had no shower, just a tub. You cannot walk anywhere so taxi is needed to go to town at about 20 euros each way. The breakfast was nothing special. The rugs were a hazard and would slip on the wood floor. The towels seemed to be 50 yrs old. The bed sheets were ok. There is no a/c, fans, or screens on the windows so your choices are stagnant air or bugs. The staff was very friendly but no English so if you don't speak French, be sure to download google translate app. It was a cool place but I would not return.
The proprietor was very kind and helpful. Hospitality was above and beyond! The breakfast offered is delicious and satisfying. Very serene setting. The town of Bayeux is a short 10 minute drive and had a very cool downtown with plenty of nice restaurant options and Notre Dame.
A lovely 19th Century Manor house bought up to current day facilities made it a wonderful treat. Very friendly owners and very large, beautiful gardens.
Amazing. Simply amazing. The owner was very friendly. We were the only guests and had the whole place to ourselves. I wish we would have spent more than just 2 nights here. The room was stunning and the grounds were well maintained. Very close to Bayuex and D-Day monuments and beaches. Only a 20 minute drive to Maisy Battery which is a must! If you have the opportunity to book here, do!
This is a genuine chateau (would be called a stately home in the UK - think Downton Abbey). They have about 5 guest rooms and you get the run of the place, plus breakfast. When we stayed we were the only guests so we literally had a chateau to ourselves. It was magical. The gardens are lovely, you can sit out there or walk or whatever you want. About a five minute drive into Bayeux, very handy for the town and the Normandy beaches. Honestly, staying here was the highlight of our trip. Still can't quite believe we did it.
The housekeepers didn't speak English but we all managed to get by. The breakfast was VERY impressive.
The only warning - make sure you're going to the right place. I clicked on an address in the confirmation email that took us to a little housing estate in Bayeux. When I typed in Chateau des monts google maps found it correctly.
My husband and I travel a lot ( so far, 27 countries), but this hotel is unforgettable! The owners put so much work and so much love to bring this chateau back to life! Beautiful room, nice breakfast, tranquility of the garden and just 2 miles from Bayeux.
Very easy excess to Omaha beach.
Lovely place. The owner had a loud discussion in the hallway while we were trying to take a nap. But the grounds are spectacular and the staff is very nice. Close to Bayeux. We recommend it highly.
