In the heart of the Var region, in a peaceful setting, 15 km from Draguignan, between the sea (25 km as the crow flies - 40 minutes by car) and the Verdon Gorges (20 km as the crow flies - 40 minutes from Trigance), you will enjoy exceptional views of a typical Provençal village (Callas) and unobstructed views all the way to the coastline, in an environment perfect for relaxation near remarkable sites.

You will have the entire house and exclusive use of the swimming pool, far from prying eyes and noise. Complete privacy. Seclusion and tranquility guaranteed.
The house and its pool benefit from a particularly favorable orientation, ensuring maximum sunshine throughout the day. Depending on your mood or the time of day, you can enjoy lunch in the shade of the mulberry-plane trees (overlooking the village) or sheltered under the pool house with its adjoining summer kitchen, relax in the garden furniture on the terrace, or host a meal at the large mosaic table with its exceptional panoramic view.

The "Domaine des Moulières" is a large 7,000 m² property on terraced land planted with olive trees and Provençal flora: thyme, bay, rosemary, cypress, linden, mulberry-plane trees, hackberry trees, etc.

It's close to the village (a 10-minute walk) via a pleasant path leading to shops, including a remarkable bakery-pastry shop, a mini-market, and quality restaurants. Numerous picturesque walks and hikes start right from the house, either on foot or by mountain bike.

Our house, built in a typical Provençal style, uses traditional materials, including Salernes terracotta tiles, interior vaulted stone ceilings, and antique furniture. For your comfort, the house is equipped with a quiet air conditioning system that allows you to regulate the temperature room by room, both in winter and summer.

2023: Our house was awarded a 4-star "Furnished Tourist Accommodation" rating by the French Tourism Development Agency.

- During rental periods, the owners occupy a separate building at the entrance to the property. The distance between the two buildings ensures complete privacy.

Beautiful house, solidly built with incredible views and everything you could possibly need. The surrounding area is also gorgeous. For larger people it is worth knowing the beds are solidly built, one room is on the ground floor and the walk in shower on the ground floor is very spacious. You can park right next to the front door. The hosts live next door (detached property) and were super helpful and kind. They only communicated when needed amd gave good suggestions for excursions. Othersise we were left alone and felt private. Would definitely go back and book again.

We had a wonderful 2 week holiday in this fabulous house with amazing views. Jean-Paul & Myriam were very welcoming and helpful with great suggestions on all the many area’s sightseeing opportunities and activities (including bike rides, walking, canoeing etc), but we also had our complete privacy to fully enjoy the comfortable, well equipped house, the large pool and garden surrounds. The location was ideal for us, being pretty much equidistant between the coast and the Gorges du Verdon, plus close to many other beautiful villages & countryside to explore. Also a short walk into Callas village itself in the morning to the very good local boulangerie and also restaurants in the evening, when we weren’t all simply dining outside at the house enjoying the views or using the great summer kitchen area.In summary, we had a perfect family holiday with our two sons and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.

Lovely break in a great location

Needed somewhere quiet and comfortable for a last minute break in the sun. This was perfect. Very quiet and very comfortable, everything as described. Short walk to village for croissants in the morning and a quick drink in the evening! Great restaurants in the area as well. Hosts were very helpful and excellent communication. Thank you

Charming spacious house in lovely Provence village

We spent a week at the property, which is a large, but characterful house next door to the owners' own house. The house is spacious, with a downstairs bedroom and bathroom, and 2 upstairs bedrooms with bathroom, all air con. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped. The owners, Jean-Paul & Myriam, are a very pleasant couple and made check-in and check-out very easy. Jean-Paul spoke good English. The location of the house is superb, as it has a good outdoor area with lots of tables and a swimming pool with lovely views across to the small village of Callas. However, and unusually for these kind of properties which are sometimes remote, the village was an easy 15 mins walk away so we popped out in the morning to the excellent bakery for bread and pastries. There was also a small supermarket and a few (good-value) restaurants. Callas itself is an easy drive from Nice airport and there are lots of things to see and do in the area - we particularly liked visiting the coast at St Tropez, discovering the pretty villages nearby, and the spectacle of the Gorges du Verdon and canoeing on Lac St Croix. The Var region itself is a delight and feels ever so slightly off the beaten Provence track (inland at least). A lovely property in a lovely area!

Wonderful Week

Lovely week here, property had everything you could ever need and the owners are available for any questions and make sure you are well settled and we had a lovely welcome basket. Overall great place, incredibly clean and had everything you need for a family including ikea highchair/cot and safety gate for the pool. We loved it, genuinely brilliant house and location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. A perfect location, great facilities including a wonderful pool and large area for relaxation and outdoor dining. A wonderful base in Callas

The villa is just as described and possibly more impressive than the photos. A great base for you to explore the coast and also inland. Jean-Paul and Myriam are wonderful hosts, very responsive to messages and provide lots of information and recommendations. Callas is a small but charming village. We had an amazing time!

Fantastic

Wonderful owners make property event more special

We had intended to visit this property last summer, but had to change plans at the last minute (literally) due to UK Covid travel Policy unexpectedly changing. Thankfully Jean Paul and Myriam were very understanding and allowed us to change the booking. 12 months later and we were delighted that we finally had the chance to visit. Jean Paul and Myriam were very welcoming and were responsive to any requests throughout our stay. The property itself lives up to the high ratings. Wonderful location. So easy to walk into the village! The view across to the village is beautiful. The pool is a great size and we were grateful for the roofed poolside table area which remains under shade all day. This gave us relief from the sun which shone continuously throughout our stay and helps keep the pool at a lovely temperature. The house itself is very clean with all you need to cook with all appliances in excellent working order. Sleeping arrangements were perfect for the 4 of us (Mum, Dad and two adult children). The local area offers some fantastic days out (boating near the Gorges de Verdon, St Tropez via the ferry at Ste Maxime, beautiful hill top villages (Tourtours was our favourite as it has a lively square and wonderful views across the local area) and beaches within an hours drive (we were advised to arrive and leave the beach early which was a great tip!). All in all a fantastic 2 weeks. The best part though was the opportunity to meet Jean Paul and Myriam. Wonderful people who really do make this place special!

Great property in a beautiful location

We stayed in the property for one week during July. The property itself has character and charm. Clean and tidy with everything needed. The property has air conditioning, but even without it turned on, it remained cool for a lot of the day. The highlight is definitely the outside space. The property sits in a wonderful location overlooking the pretty village. There are multiple outside seating places, meaning you can always find shade or sun. The swimming pool is a really good size, and has wonderful views over the village and surrounding countryside. We enjoyed spending our afternoons sat by the pool reading, swimming, and enjoying the views and tranquility. The owners were helpful and responded quickly to our communication. The owners live next door and welcomed us to the property, as well as making time to come and see us at the end to ask how we had go on. Callas a a good base for exploring this corner of Provence. Lots of pretty, historic villages are nearby, the coast and major towns (Grasse, Aix, Nice, St Tropez) are all within striking distance, and so is the fantastic Verdon Gorge and it’s lakes (Lac St Croix and Lac d’Esparron).

Great location - stunning views

A comfortable and well-equipped house, with great views and a ten-minute walk to village. Jean-Paul and Myriam where very welcoming and helpful with local advice and restaurant reservations. Callas is well located as a base to visit this part of Provence and is only 40 minutes to the coast. We had a very happy holiday here and would return.

Exceeded all our expectations

We spend 3 weeks at this wonderful property close to Callas in the Var department, part of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Based on the communication with the owners in front of our stay, the expectations we had were quite high but they have been even exceeded. The setting of the house, where the owners lived for a long time themselves before, the pool area, the floor plan with two separate bedrooms having their own bathroom on the first floor, all was just perfect for us. From the first moment on we truly felt that Jean-Paul and Myriam took every effort to make our stay an unforgettable one. We also have special memories of the daily table tennis games and our several barbecue evenings at the house. The surroundings of the house are very spacious and well maintained, which is especially true for the pool. Callas has an ideal location which opens a variety of options for daily tours and trips. Aix-en-Provence, Nice, Saint Tropez, Grasse and Saint-Paul-de-Vence can all be reached within around 1 1/2 hours max. And furthermore, the impressive Gorges du Verdon, certainly a must-see for all nature lovers, are only an hour away from the house. But also the closer neighbourhood of Callas holds several secrets to be discovered too. Our favourite was Thoronet Abbey, a former Cistercian abbey built in the late twelfth and early thirteenth century, now restored as a museum. You should not miss that one! In a nutshell, we would give our time in Callas a 10/10 and we can only recommend to book with Jean-Paul and Myriam.

Wonderful two week stay in Callas!

We had the most wonderful family holiday in Callas. Jean-Paul & Myriam were super friendly and helpful. The house was lovely and the views are amazing. The location is great for exploring the coast and the Haute Var, Gorge du Verdon etc with everything within an easy 40min - 1hr drive. Very sad indeed to leave!

A pool with a view!

Lovely stay in what really feels like a home, rather than a gite. Beautifully furnished and decorated, with all mod cons, and a stunning view of the town and mountains from the garden and pool. Just a few minutes walk to the bakery and good restaurants. Callas is a friendly town, attractive but not touristy. Lots to do in the local area, we got some some good advice from Jean-Paul and Myriam, who were really welcoming. A fantastic first visit to Provence!

Great holiday!

Just returned from 2 weeks in this lovely house where we had a super holiday. The view is fantastic, whether from the house overlooking the wooded hills or from the pool of the pretty village of Callas we never tired of just looking out. The house was very clean and well equipped. Callas itself is small but within an easy 10 minute walk or 2 minute bike ride to get bread on a morning or for a meal out at night. The 4 restaurants are OK but nothing special but were nice enough and convenient. Lots of local tracks and paths for walks and bike rides although it was too hot to venture too seriously into the hills. We really enjoyed the nearby Gorge de Pennefort for refreshing dips into the pools. The house is also very conveniently situated to venture further afield - easy to get to the coast or Gorges du Verdon , local lakes or one of the many local villages. Jean-Paul & Myriam were excellent hosts who were friendly and helpful with local knowledge and tips and were very tolerant and helpful in compensating for our almost non existent French. We would certainly recommend the property. Merci beaucoup Jean-Paul & Myriam!

Do you know the feeling when you actually do not want to share a comment because an experience was so beautiful that you want to keep it as a little secret just for yourself? This property is beautiful, even more beautiful than the photos can show, and Jean-Paul and Myriam are the nicest hosts you can think of. Einzigartige Lage

Die Lage des Hauses ist fantastisch! Das Grundstück ist von außen nicht einsehbar. Wer Ruhe sucht und trotzdem in Laufnähe (10 min) Einkaufsmöglichkeiten möchte (u.a. Bäcker, verschiedene Restaurants, Supermarkt), ist hier genau richtig. Die Gastgeber, die nebenan wohnen, sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der Zustand des Grundstücks/des Hauses entspricht genau den Fotos. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und werden sehr gerne wiederkommen. Uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung!
