I know you get what you pay for. The breakfast was great, the location great, the staff great, but the room we had on the 8th floor was in dire need of renovation. The Lino floor panels were all peeling around the edges annd cracking and those bathroom cubicles do not get rid of the heat and moisture very well. The rooms have paper thin walls and everyone was banging doors all night long, shaking the walls. The carpets in the hall have seen much better days. Housekeeping was fine, the difference between bath towels and towels being a difference price point was nitpicky by the staff. The bed was very firm, too firm for my taste and after 6 nights it caused me some grief. But as I said, you get what you pay for. The rooms are warm and the water hot. I just think they could do some long overdue renovation. I stayed before about 5 years ago and the room I had then was immaculate. However as I said, staff were always helpful and it is worth the breakfast.

The hotel and its facilities were great as were the staff. Ex ellent location. The beds weren't very comfortable though and you felt like you were rolling into the centre of the bed all the time. Even when sleeping by yourself in a single bed 😂.

The staff was incredibly kind and courteous, everything I could have hoped. We only stayed in Edinburgh for a day and they accommodated us and was able to get a room earlier in the day for us. Very close to the train station, I would definitely stay there again.

The bar and breakfast area were definitely the highlight of our stay. The space was stylish and welcoming, and there was a great choice of breakfast options, which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, the room was a big disappointment. Despite booking a premium room, it was affected by a damp issue and the smell was dreadful. This was not at all what we were expecting and significantly detracted from our overall experience. While the communal areas were excellent, the poor condition of the room meant the stay did not live up to the standard we had anticipated.

Bathroom door didn't close, taps and shower made a buzzing noise whilst I'm use. Loud banging/music until the early hours of the morning, followed in to the hotel at night by a random man and staff didn't seem to care at all. Collected our bags and it took longer than needed as staff were talking amongst themselves. Original check in staff were very friendly
