In a great location very walkable to city centre and restaurants. Hotel could use a re-fresh - carpet needs replacing. Beds not very comfortable. Friendly staff.
We are loved staying here! We had a beautiful view of the loch and castle. Our room was exactly as pictured; super spacious and cozy. The building is old but it is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is convenient and close to the city center with all the restaurants and pubs.
Charming older in-town hotel in the shadow of Inverness Castle. Hot breakfast buffet was delicious. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Parking lot about 2 blocks down the street (£5.00 - day) but the hotel has an ample loading/unloading zone out front. Would recommend to friends and would stay again.
Tired hotel, limps along by catering to tour group
Needs so very necessary renovations. I had a space heater in my room, which I used when there for 2 nights 2 week ago. Apparently the heating system doesn't work. I booked because it had a restaurant on site. The first night it was closed for everyone but a tour group. The second night it was just closed. You could eat in the bar, but service was non-existent. There is a grocery store around the corner so I had a sandwich, second night I got a pizza , which was good from a place opposite the grocery. Not what I envisioned I would be doing after long days in the Highlands.
really don't know where the bad reviews come from, room was good breakfast buffet, excellent, staff friendly and courteous, yes the carpets were a bit worn, but what do people expect when it's being walked on all day every day?
would not hesitate to stay again

Disliked: Cleanliness
The blanket had mold spots on them. It’s an old building so creaks and water spots are to be expected. When I called down for new sheets the front desk got busy checking people in so I went down to get them. She changed the sheet over the comforter but did it on the floor. Would have just taken them up to the room and done it ourselves. Location was fine. Staff was friendly but didn’t seem to care one way or another
Was fine for one night...but not great. Run down hotel in need of an upgrade. We had mould in the bathroom, the mattress was very uncomfortable and generally just felt like a very tired room needing a good clean - including getting rid of the cobwebs! Breakfast was okay...again not great. TV didn't work and the doors in the corridor made it a noisy night.
The check-in desk was staffed and the girl gave us good advice of using the nearby cathedral carpark for 5 pounds a day which was very affordable considering the location! View overlooked the River Ness. Window opened to allow a cool breeze. Mattress seemed to be very worn, a little broken-down, but we were able to sleep moderately comfortably. There was a bathtub and nice hot shower. However the cleanliness of the bathroom could have been better (there was some visible mold and the bathroom baseboards needed wiping down.) we enjoyed the full breakfast every morning, one of the nicer breakfasts we had during our 2-week stay in Scotland. There was shopping and food in every direction just outside the door. We took 2 tours that left from Inverness and both met in locations that were walkable from the hotel. We loved the local Fat Buddha fish & chips carry-out!
Hotel was very nice and it’s location was very convenient

Liked: Cleanliness
Rooms were clean and night staff were awesome. Breakfast staff had to be asked to refill the water jugs and sugar. They didn’t seem to pay attention to keeping everything stocked. Also the front door of the hotel was often left open allowing cigarette smoke to waft up through the main areas / staircase. Overall was an ok place to stay but I wouldn’t return.
