The location of the hotel is excellent and very central. The staff was very friendly and helpful - quick in fixing the drainage problem in my shower. The hotel is old, so the room can only be cleaned to a certain extent; another minor issue in my room was the closet cannot be completely close. Although the location is good, it is very noisy at night. Room is not sound proofed as stated in the description.

Really great stay. Our air conditioner wasn’t work and the staff got tight on it and got things fixed. They were lovely. Excellent location to explore Lisbon. Would definitely go back

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It's literally situated right next to the Baixa-Chiado station, granting immediate access to nearly every metro line. With all the necessary shops and action right outside the door, the convenience is incredible. Being in the center of the action means you will hear the outside noise (which I did not mind in the slightest!). The room was clean, though the current furnishings are due for an upgrade or replacement.

Check in staff was very inexperienced. Ordered car service and breakfast to go for early morning departure. Staff said arrangements would be made. Unfortunately arrangements were made for the wrong day. Thankfully overnight/early morning team were able to make transportation arrangements in time for our flights.

The room was modern and comfortable, however, we stayed for a week and it was the only room on the floor without a window to the outside. The window opened to the inner atrium which meant a lot of aircon unit noise, as that is where all the aircon units are. The staff were very inattentive and not friendly. They didn't know or greet us even after a week. Breakfast was very basic, with lots of things running out or breaking down. Definitely understaffed. The hotel is in a great position, easily accessible and close to city attractions. Overall it was a place for convenience, a nice room with a terrible view, unhelpful staff and no thrills.

Hotel Borges Chiado offers an excellent stay in the heart of Lisbon, combining convenience, comfort, and lively surroundings. The hotel’s central location makes it a perfect base for exploring the city—just steps away from major attractions, local restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The vibrant atmosphere of Chiado is enhanced by live street music every day, adding to the charm of the area. Rooms are serviced daily, kept clean, and surprisingly quiet considering the lively neighborhood outside. The soundproofing works well, ensuring a good night’s rest even with the energetic street scene below. Breakfast each morning is well-prepared and satisfying, offering a nice variety to start the day. The only significant drawback during the stay was an occasional unpleasant odor in the Hotel. It seems to be due to a plumbing issue, possibly related to the use of accordion PVC pipes in lieu of P-traps beneath the sinks. While this didn’t ruin the overall experience, addressing it would greatly improve comfort.
