Disappointing Stay – Not the Taj Experience We Expected
We have been loyal customers of St. James, choosing it for all our recent visits to London. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing and far below the standards we have come to expect from a Taj property.
To begin with, the level of courtesy and customer care was lacking right from check-in. We were also not informed at the time of booking that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations — something that clearly impacted the overall experience. The warmth and graciousness that define Taj hospitality were simply missing.
To make matters worse, there was a mishap with one of our bags handled by the bellman during check-in, and there was zero effort to resolve the issue. Instead of an apology or an attempt to correct their mistake, we were brusquely directed to the nearest hardware store to fix the problem ourselves.
This experience was deeply disappointing and not in line with the Taj standards we’ve always admired. We truly hope management looks into addressing these issues. Sadly, we will be reconsidering our loyalty on future trips to London
