Was put in a room opposite cleaners cupboard at which was woken up early to cleaners loading trolleys, banging and talking amongst themselves early in the morning
We liked the location so much -- easy to get to most areas with not too much hassle. The staff were pleasant to interact with.
We disliked that the towels are immediately across from the toilet. The room also got a bit stuffy / no circulation of air except for a small old fan.
It was lovely from start to finish. There were 14 of us, all arriving at different times, all disorganised and the reception staff were absolutely lovely, tolerant, smiling and a lot better organised than we were. The rooms were spotless and whilst not over- large certainly comfortable enough. Breakfast was fabulous - catered for everyone. Location great - I mean - I really couldnt fault it.
It’s right in the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Hottest room I have ever stayed in
It had been a bit warm in London for the previous week.
On entering the bedroom it was hot and stuffy. I slid back the noise canceling window cover and then opened the window the 2 inches allowed. This didn’t really help with releaving the heat, but it did make the room extremely noisy.
That night I had to close the windows before 'sleeping' due to the noise outside. The resukt was the hottest room I have ever slept in. No air conditioning meant the room temperature couldn't be altered.
I struggled to get any sleep, and lay sweating and tossing & turning.
There was no complimentary water in the room either, with the hotel knowing how hot the rooms were.
At 3:38am I finally gave up trying to sleep and went to get a drink from the taps, looking round the room I found an unplugged deak fan below the bottom shelf at the back of the wardrobe. I plugged this in, and had warm air circulated around the room and additional noise if a noisy fan.
I didn’t get more than 2hrs sleep, and on checkout informed the receptionists of the extream heat of the room and lack of sleep. She nonchalantly threw away a "sorry about that" and then looked down and carried on with the next customer.
It's a shame as the public areas of the hotel are quite nice and have been looked after, but the rooms are dated/poor and the lack of basic air-conditioning meant the basic requirements for a hotel...sleep was near impossible. The customer service when brought to their attention was non existent.
