I am writing to formally report a serious incident that occurred during my stay at Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, which operates under the Hyatt Inclusive Collection.
During my visit, my credit card information was stolen directly from my personal belongings inside my room. I was trustful enough to leave my purse in the room, believing that my property would be safe in a resort of this standard. This theft occurred while housekeeping staff were servicing the room. I never provided this card to the hotel or authorized its use. Shortly after my stay, I discovered unauthorized purchases made with this card, and I immediately contacted my bank, canceled the card, and filed a fraud report.
My stay included a large family group of 16 people, 2 children under 4 years old. and we found the rooms to be dirty and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable, particularly for children. The resort environment was not suitable for families, as smoking areas were not properly restricted, exposing children to hazards that should have been prevented in a family-friendly property.
The combination of these incidents raises serious concerns about guest safety, internal security, and staff conduct, making this resort unsuitable for families seeking a safe, secure, and clean environment.
Given that this property is part of the Hyatt brand, I expected professionalism, integrity, and protection for all guests, especially families traveling with children. I strongly urge
