The place was rundown, had no hot water or heating for 24 hours out of a 48hr stay. The lifts weren't working at one point and we was on the 6th floor. Theres no plug sockets near your bed to charge your phone and the cleaner just let herself in without knocking at 8 30am while i was standing there with my nob out.

Good stay, disappointing check-in

Our stay was fine; the room was clean, confirmed and well-appointed and we slept soundly. What marred things a little was the check-in experience. Having checked in online the day before, it should have been a simple and quick matter of picking up the keys. Instead we waited for about 10 minutes at the so-called “Fast track” counter while two staff members checked in all the people in the normal queue! Talk about defeating the purpose!

After reading all the negative reviews I was unsure but don't believe everything you read The hotel is amazing and hard working staff where nothing was too much trouble Very convenient for sightseeing and walkable plenty to see and do within the hotel even looking at the lobby was informative and beautiful to look at.

The property is under going a massive refurb to the bedrooms although we was very close to the workmen we didn't hear a thing, and the work men where very courteous, thankfully the main building is being left to its very ornate and beautiful surroundings, the breakfast deal is amazing, breakfast was good but the coffee was a bit of a let down but Mackie's is just across the road so no problem, all in all I love staying staff are great.

My stay was perfect. Everything was as it was subscribed in the description. Couldn't fault it at all. Absolutely baffles me why on earth this hotel gets bad press. Totally uncalled for. Id definitely stay again ,Period.

Not recommended for solo trips or the fainthearted

I would remove this property from hotels.com as I booked via the platform trusting it was a safe vetted hotel but was horrified on arrival and did not feel safe or pleased with the "hotel" It was like something out of a horror movie
