Still a lovely hotel but standards have dropped

I’ve stayed here many times and rate it excellent as a hotel but sadly my latest stay was disappointing. I always book myself a suite, they are luxurious rooms with the most comfortable bed. You also get a complimentary bar including spirits and a box of chocolates which is a lovely touch. Sadly this is no longer provided and even the slippers have been downgraded to a cheap alternative. Left feeling standards have dropped on what used to be such a luxurious hotel.

Poor this time

We have stayed at the Dakota numerous times and class it as one of our favourite hotels in Manchester Although this time was suprisingly poor, the mattress on our bed was very different. Normally they are the comfiest mattresses but this time it felt like the mattresses have been changed and not for the better. It had no support and was also sloping towards the headboard which seemed really strange. The shower head would not stay in place it continuously twisted towards the back wall meaning you had to hold it straight The make up mirror on the desk did not work or charge, they did come and change it later in the evening but this was already too late for when my partner needed it. The service is normally amazing but this time we found ourselves waiting for long periods before anyone would come an take our order for drinks or food, all together when paying the amounts the Dakota charges and expecting everything to be spot on we were left a little disappointed
