Not great unfortunately

Ok I get you get what you pay for and I’m fully on board with this but this hotel fell far below my expectations. Room is basic, but ample for what you pay for it. The problem is the awful sewage smell as soon as you put the tap on that you could also smell in the bathroom and corridor - this isn’t normal and really needs addressing. Shower didn’t actually turn on, the tap was completely stuck. Stood there in my pyjamas at 8 in the morning I had no choice but to use brutal force, turned it on to a dribble at best. Managed a “shower” but then no way of turning the thing off. This would’ve been checked when the cleaner last cleaned the shower so how they allowed for the room to be made available for guests is beyond me. Yes you get what you pay for but I’d highly recommend another budget chain. Recommendation for hotel - can we please normalise discreetly informing check in guests of their room number. Arrived just before midnight on my own with my 10 year old (I’m female) and announced my room number in front of another guest which made me really uncomfortable

This is a very good budget hotel. Room and bathroom was spacious. Plenty of towels provided. Complimentary water bottle and cookies. Room also provides portal heater and fan which is very important to allow guests to adjust their own ideal room temp. Only issue is the area, Barking is too far from Central London. The lighting in rooms is very poor and dim. There are no ceilings lights which is bad for the vision. My portable desk lamp provides more light than the hotel room lights. Overall it is a very good budget hotel and room.

Will stay again

Very surprised by the service, condition, breakfast etc for an Ibis budget, it was brilliant, will definitely be staying again. The rooms, although basic, are very well sound proofed. The breakfast has all the main basics, and the parking is ample.

Overall, this property was quite small, didn't have enough space, could barely walk, theres only 3 lights which makes the room really dark as there is no light in the passage way, only one socket therefore could not charge multiple devices and very stuffy and hot. Would not recommend. I had to cancel my second booking at this hotel beacuse i did not like it.

Very noisy, lack of breakfast options. Very concerning is the fire alarm safety. Alarm went off during the night and the staff were very mixed on what to do, showing no reassurances what’s so ever. Lift was also down during our duration of the stay

Its just ok

It was a budget hotel so it was fine for just sleeping in but we had 2 triple rooms and there was only 2 plug sockets in the whole room (and in the corner of the room ) not by bedside or even by a mirror for doing hair etc. Also claims to be air conditioned...absolutely isnt. Theres a fan (which then takes up one of the two plug sockets) that barely even works, might as well just blow on yourself. We also found that despite website saying 6 minutes away from the Excel it was actually 15 minutes drive away so cost us double in uber costs so ended up having to spend over £80 on 4 ubers !
